3 Easy Ways to Uplevel Your Brand Now

We just finished up Q1 and I don’t know about you, but it still feels like I’m in go-go-go mode with all things business. I think it’s because we’re entering a new season, and we are still fresh out of the gate with goal setting, so my mind is always focused on the back-end-business stuff.

One of the goals you may have set earlier this year is to spruce up your brand. Perhaps you want to create a new logo, curate new brand colors, or maybe redo your website.

Those are all great things to do for your business, especially when it is warranted, such as rebranding altogether when you realize your brand aesthetic isn’t aligning with your audience or brand persona. But all of those little details can seem daunting. So here are three easy ways you can uplevel your brand.

  1. Create a Brand in Canva.

If you have a pro Canva account you can add your brand’s color palette and fonts right into the Brand Kit! How cool is that? I know you must be thinking, “Okay, but how does that uplevel my brand?” One thing that successful brands do is maintain consistency. Therefore, if you have all of your brand colors and fonts set up in Canva, right at your fingertips, you are more likely to maintain consistency when creating your graphics.

So let’s dive into this Brand Kit. . I’ve included some screenshots of my own Canva Brand Kit below. You will see I have not only my brand’s colors, but also the brand colors for The Brand Photographer Method (my online course for branding photographers). You can also add in your brand fonts, including ones you’ve purchased. I have a ton here, but you get the idea.

2. Provide valuable content to your audience.

This will immediately uplevel your brand because your clients and prospective clients will start to see you as the expert, the go-to person with “great content.” This means posting to Instagram, to your blog, and sending out newsletters with valuable content.

Okay I know you must be thinking, “But no one cares what I have to say.” Believe me when I tell you that YES THEY DO. If you have no idea what to write about, ask your clients what they want to learn or hear about from you! You can do that by posting Instagram polls to your stories or asking questions with your Instagram post captions. It doesn’t get any easier than that! If you are really having a hard time coming up with ideas, head over to this blog post where I give tips on coming up with caption ideas.

3. Improve your photos!

Okay - don’t roll your eyes just yet! I know, I know, I’m a photographer telling you to improve your photos. But hear me out when I say that this is NOT a sales pitch but rather a truth bomb.

Below you’ll see a few before and after website transformations using photos I took for various clients. Yes, these three clients were also redoing their websites, which is the perfect time to schedule a branding shoot, but you can see how much more eye catching and cohesive their new images are for their brand. Of course, if your budget is limited, you may not be able to plan for a brand photography session this year, but you may want to factor it into your budget for next year. You will immediately feel more confident in your overall brand’s aesthetic.
