How Brand Photography & Design Transformed this Website

One thing I’ve heard from web designers is that brand photography can be the icing on the cake for their client’s website. This is because when done carefully and with intention, it can tie all the elements of a website together.

So it’s no surprise when Suzanne Cady reached out asking for a session because her web designer, Chantelle Davis Gray suggested she get professional images done to limit the use of impersonal stock photography.

Since Suzanne was just looking for a few photos for this brand refresh for her online virtual bookkeeping services (Cady Financial Services), she decided to book my one-hour session at my studio - which is actually down the road from her office! While one hour is not enough to gather tons of images if you’re  big into social media, it is perfect to grab some on-brand content for a new website.

Chantelle and I worked together to ensure that she would have options to update Suzanne’s website such as horizontal images that would be perfect for a banner and branded stock photos. We also collaborated to ensure the images would work with the website’s new look as well as Suzanne’s brand colors.

I took Suzanne through my shoot planning process including my questionnaire, image opportunity analysis and shoot planning Zoom call. Then I assembled a Milanote board based on all of the information I gathered from both Suzanne and Chantelle, filled with prop and wardrobe ideas, image inspiration, as well as logistics for the shoot. This ensures we are organized for the day of (you can read more about what makes a successful personal branding session here).

Since everything was prepared, Suzanne nailed her shoot and we created some fantastic images that I couldn’t wait to edit and send to both her and Chantelle. In cases where my clients are working with a designer, I offer to share the gallery so that everyone can review and select what they feel would work best as the end result.

Now that the images were selected, the last thing to do was launch Suzanne’s new website. Take a look at just how great it came out! Notice how in some of the pictures Suzanne’s wardrobe matches or complements the colors in her site? That wasn’t just a coincidence! It’s what happens when you work together to transform a website.

It was great working with Suzanne and Chantelle on Cady Financial Services’ new site.
