Case Study: Updating this Aesthetician's Website
The Challenge: Updating this Aesthetician’s website, social media, marketing materials with new images that are personal, chic, and fits her brand.
Ashley is a registered nurse, licensed esthetician, and licensed body art practitioner. With her business, Refresh Aesthetics, she specializes in natural cosmetic enhancements for the face with cosmetic injectables, permanent makeup, eyelash extensions, and skincare. When she decided to update her website with Striped Dog Creative (also a past client of mine) to better reflect her brand and also better connect with prospective clients, she knew she needed new images. Up until recently, she had been mostly using stock images of the treatments and services she provided. But this created a bit of a disconnect. The stock images did show what she offered, but they were impersonal and had different design aesthetics than the rest of her branding.
She wanted her website and images to introduce her to clients, not just as an aesthetician, but also as someone they could go to seek solutions to their skincare problems. She wanted her website to reflect her as the go-to service provider for the busy working woman who wants to look put together and fresh-faced. And with these stock images, she was not accomplishing that mission.
The Plan: Highlight the stories she wanted to tell on her website and social media.
Ashley’s days are packed, between running her business, taking care of her family, and furthering her business education, she is always busy. She also gets in a morning workout and does much of her daily tasks during her lunch break between back-to-back clients. So we wanted to reflect this healthy, yet busy lifestyle that she has focused on wellness and personal development.
We started with some working shots. Ashley invited some of her regular clients to model for this shoot so she could demonstrate what a client consultation looks like as well as her services like microblading, cosmetic injections, and eyelash extensions on camera.
Our next story was to capture some shots of her working on her computer and reading from professional publications that she uses to keep current with her business. She really prides herself on having the expertise and medical background to provide the perfect solutions for her clients. We also grabbed headshots both in her lab coat as well as in a more relaxed setting.
During outfit changes, I shot some of the high-quality products that she uses for her services. Because not every photo needs to be of you! Finally, because Ashley really wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes of her life, we did some athleisure shots to show her devotion to health and wellness.
The Results: A new and improved website featuring images of Ashley, as well as some of her clients and services so anyone who visits the site or her social media will know exactly what she offers and what they can expect.
