Lauren + CJ // Massachusetts Wedding
If anyone knows how to throw a party, it's Lauren and CJ. Their wedding was not only gorgeous, but so much fun and I had such a great time working with them. What I loved most is how Lauren and CJ really wanted to make sure their guests had a great time. This was apparent from the first time I met them to discuss their wedding. They told me they really wanted to make sure I was there to capture a lot of the reception. This was because they knew they wanted to make their wedding a true celebrations with friends and family. And - they pulled it off perfectly. Their reception was a blast! From their introductions, to CJ crowd-surfing, to the impromptu limbo session, there was not a moment I didn't enjoy!
However, I think the best part of the 'photographing' part of this wedding was CJ and Lauren's openness to getting into the moment during their alone-time photos. I didn't have a chance to do an engagement session with them, and I could tell Lauren was a bit nervous about them being in front of the camera. When I spoke with her on the phone a few weeks before the wedding to finalize details, I did all I could to assure her, telling her I am there to guide them both in terms of posing and positioning. I also told her to Pinterest some wedding photos and show them to CJ! This way he knew what to expect and would hopefully not be completely unaware of what was expected while I was shooting. If I have the opportunity to do an engagement session with a couple, this is where I try to get them used to being in front of the camera and get an idea on posing. That way they are more prepared for the wedding. However, after talking with Lauren, and her working with CJ before the wedding, they were TOTALLY perfect for me on the wedding day! Literally, I was going to start them off with some 'easy' and 'basic' poses, but CJ was like "how about this?...." and immediately pulled Lauren in close into a more 'advance' pose! I was shocked and thrilled at the same time. They ended up being so natural in front of the camera and I loved my time with them!
I do hope you enjoy viewing some of their special day as much as I enjoyed photographing it!
